And this year, we took our Bonita Springs-Estero REALTORS Leadership Academy members to this conference and so far the response is overwhelmingly positive. As I expected.
This is a fantastic group that gelled quickly after our first couple of meetings many months ago. Helping each other, sharing best practice ideas, and now learning from some of the best in the business from around the Sunshine State.
I am honored to chair the committee that oversees Leadership Academy for our Board. What a fantastic group of leaders in the making. The photo below was taken of our Academy members and members of this year's Florida REALTORS Leadership Academy yesterday morning.
A couple of our members already serve as chair persons for committees -- i.e. government affairs and young professionals network. Others from this group have already indicated they are ready to step up and get more involved in our BSER board.
After 2 days of sessions, we are headed to the Disney resort for REALTORS Night At Epcot this evening. Last night we had a cocktail get-together by the pool here at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel & Conference Center to catch up on the first day's activities. More in-depth sessions today. Tomorrow and Saturday there are governance meetings at the FR conference site, but we are taking our Academy group Friday morning for a tour of the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC). This is an organization you have to know about to pass the real estate exam in Florida, but beyond that you don't want to be dealing with FREC. On the off chance you are, you've likely been accused of some issue. FREC investigates infractions of Florida real estate law and passes judgment.
Bottom line
, so far this has been a fantastic conference, and I'm delighted our Leadership Academy members are giving us a lot of positive feedback.
